October 1, 2008 - Greenville SC

Consolidated Tires of Greenville and their Corporate Offices have moved to their newly built Headquarters at 5806 Augusta Road, Greenville, SC.  High costs of business, a desire to change its service mix and the ability to own rather than lease are only a few of the reasons for the move.  The new $3 million, 50,000-square-foot facility features a brand new, state-of-the-art consumer showroom with a comfortable waiting area and complimentary refreshments.  The retail consumer makes up about 5percent of CTI's business but "we want it to be 15 to 20 percent", says Will Dennis, president of CTI.

The new location is "retail friendly" but it was also designed to be more efficient on the commercial side as well.  Aside from being located only a 1/2 mile off of Interstate 85, the advantage for commercial drivers is efficiency. "We designed the building so a truck driver can pull straight into a service bay and continue out the other side without ever having to put the truck in reverse or drop his trailer," Dennis said.  The new facility features three commercial service bays and one truck alignment bay with alignment pit.

January 28, 2007 - Greenville SC

On February 1st, Consolidated Tires, Inc will complete the final phase of its 2007 growth initiative when they open their second location in 8 months.  The growth plan was centered on the opening of two strategically chosen locations.  The first new location opened June 2007 in Toccoa, GA aimed at gaining access into the North GA/Atlanta market for  both retail and commercial business.  The second new location will open Feb 1st in Harleyville, SC.

The Harleyville location is located 1 mile off Exit 177 on I-26 at 181 Judge Street in Harleyville.  CTI of Harleyville will offer a full range of commercial and consumer tire products and services including quick lubes, alignments, and other preventative maintenance services.

Because CTI of Harleyville is located only a few miles east of the intersection of I-26 and I-95, it will serve as a convenient location for trucks departing and entering both the Charleston and Savannah prots that may need tires or service.  In addition, a number of fleets make their home in the Holly Hill/Harleyville area.  "We believe the area has tremendous fleet potential.  The fleets in the area should be able to improve their productivity by utilizing our convenient location and taking advantage of our value-added services", says Will Dennis, President of CTI.  "With the new location we will also be able to service the Charleston area as well as improve our level of service in some other surrounding areas where we currently have customers."

May 3, 2007 - Greenville, SC

Starting in early June, Consolidated Tires, Inc will complete the first phase of its 2007 growth initiative when they open a new hybrid location in Toccoa, GA.  Located at 730 East currahee Street, CTI recently acquired the location from North Georgia Tire and Auto Care who had closed their doors in Toccoa several years ago.

Being a "hybrid" store, CTI will service both retail and commercial consumers.  "We're very excited about our new location in Toccoa," says Will Dennis, President of CTI.  The Toccoa store "will allow easier access to both existing and potential commercial customers in North Georgia in addition to a growing retail market in the Toccoa-Stephens County area."

October 1, 2006 - Greenville, SC

CTI has added a new service offering to it's already extensive commercial line.  Last month, CTI rolled out CTI Mobile Unit #1 to provide mobile oil changes, tire rotations, computer balancing and new tire installation for its commercial customers in the Greenville area who run fleets of passenger and light truck vehicles.

Once a customer has signed on for the mobile service, a CTI sales representative will work with the vehicle maintenance manager to schedule times for the mobile unit to come out and perform work on idle fleet vehicles.  Performing these preventative maintenance checks and services while the fleet vehicles are idle saves the customer valuable man-hours and vehicle down-time.  In many cases otherwise, the customer is having to pay an employee to sit in a tire dealer's waiting room until the needed work is completed.  This could be 2-3 hours of work and time that could be used producing revenue for their business.  Providing these routine checks on the customers yard can also help identify potential problems down the road such as an under inflated tire that could lead to a flat while out on the job.

November 22, 2005 - Greenville, SC

CTI teamed up with Earshot Music of Greenville to raise money for the victims of Hurrican Katrina. Leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday, both local businesses sold raffle tickets for a dollar each to be drawn for prizes during a remote radio broadcast hosted by Greenville's 93.3 FM, The Planet on November 12 from Earshot's location. Along with CTI and Earshot, other local businesses participated by donating prizes to be given away for the Saturday afternoon raffle drawing.

The week-long promotion was great success. "At the end of the day on Saturday, we were able to raise close to $2500," said Will Dennis, President of CTI. Given the upcoming holiday season, CTI and Earshot went a different direction with the money that was raised. "All of the proceeds will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank of New Orleans to help provide a Thanksgiving dinner for all of those that are still homeless or in need."
