Consolidated Tires, Inc., was established in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1959 by Mr. John Dennis, Jr.  At the time, however, the company was known as Consolidated Oil and provided home heating and fueling to local customers.

In the early sixties, Mr. Dennis entered the automobile tire retreading market and changed the company's name to Consolidated Tires, Inc. The company provided retail customers with quality retread bias ply and bias belted tires. These tires were both reliable and inexpensive. For this reason, they were particularly popular with the soldiers stationed at the Donaldson Center military base, which was conveniently located to our first location on South Pleasantburg Drive. As business continued to grow, Consolidated opened a wholesale tire division in the late sixties.

In 1970, our current President, and son of the founder, John D. Dennis (Johnny) joined Consolidated. At about the same time, radial tires were becoming the popular choice of consumers in America. Realizing this and recognizing that the market for retread passenger car tires was rapidly decreasing, Johnny redirected Consolidated into the markets of commercial truck tires and eventually to retreading of truck tires. By the mid-eighties, Consolidated had established a strong foothold in both the truck and passenger tire business. The company became known for providing quality products and its fast reliable road service for truck tire customers.

In 1987, Consolidated entered the truck tire retreading business, establishing an alliance with Bandag, Inc. The original retreading facility was located in Anderson, SC, and then relocated in 1990 to its current location in Pelzer, SC.

In 1996, world-famous tire manufacturer, Michelin, entered the truck tire retreading business. Recognizing the opportunities offered with a Greenville based leader such as Michelin, Consolidated joined forces with Michelin in December, 1998. Our Pelzer retreading facility is considered a state-of-the-art leader in retreading truck tires.

Today, Consolidated Tires, Inc., is the leading truck tire service dealership in South Carolina. We provide both commercial and retail customers with high quality products and service excellence at facilities in Greenville, Spartanburg, Columbia, and Pelzer.
